Dr. Younghun Bahk is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Transportation Systems Engineering at Ajou University. His research focuses on network modeling of autonomous vehicle (AV) travel patterns, activity-based routing problems, and regional transportation planning models. He has long been interested in public transit systems, which has led all of his studies to incorporate multimodal components. As a result, he is particularly interested in intermodal trips and in analyzing their impacts on travel behavior and transportation planning.
He received his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, with an emphasis on future multimodal transportation systems involving household-owned AVs. He also holds an MS in Urban Planning and Engineering from Yonsei University, where his research focused on the interlining effects and transfer penalties of urban bus transit lines.
